It has four major provinces, Leinster (Dublin), Munster (Cork), Ulster (Belfast) and Connacht (Galway) each with its special and unique character, charm and beauty rich in amazing history.

There are circa 6 million people living in isle of Ireland of which 4.5 million are living in Republic of Ireland and 1.5 million in Northern Ireland.

It has been estimated that there are nearly 20 million people of Irish descent around the globe.

Capital cities are:

Dublin for Republic Of Ireland (ROI)

Belfast for Northern Ireland (NI)

Official Languages are English and Irish 87%, Other Polish ~ 8%  

Irish is used mainly on the western shores and isles of Ireland and in Gaeltacht areas.

Currencies are Euro (€)EUR in the Republic of Ireland and Pound (£)GBP in Northern Ireland

TRANSPORT

By Car

It is easy and inexpensive to rent new cars, You will need: credit card, circa 500€ on credit card as a security deposit (not charged) and be over age of 26 ps.: International driving license is useful. 

It is preferred and advised mode of transport but remember to drive on the left hand side of the road.

By Bus

However having said that the national bus system Bus Eireann has an excellent network covering nearly every inch of the country.

Its fleet is modern and affordable, mostly on schedule with excellent drivers and staff that will deliver you almost "at your doorstep" or as close as its possible to wherever you might want to get and even advise you how to get there and back if you ask nicely.

Also please remember that public transport operates mostly between 5am to 11pm with some exceptions.

By Train

Trains are good and fast link between the major cities, it is bit dearer then busses but much faster and slightely more comfortable.

Ireland has good road network of secondary type roads that will allow you to visit all those hidden gems, places that are offbeat track and truly experience the breadth and width of real Ireland.

Its magical landscapes, castles, mountains and stunning views, its beauty and charm and its good people.

Booking Tickets - As a rule it is often cheaper to buy tickets on line since there are lower costs in processing.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is plentiful and of high standard, for anyone’s pocket.

Prices range from

8€ -20€ par day with breakfast for hostels,

15-30€ per day for B&Bs,

30 -70€ for hotels.

Weather can be capricious to say the least, however experience tells us that this year will be very nice and sunny as it is proven by beautiful and sunny day in early spring so far.

(there is a pattern of good weather that seems to repeat itself every 3 to 4 years and this is the year.)
